Another new thing, we traded in our beloved Focus and mini van for a 2008 Dodge Grand Caravan.
While this beauty of a car is so wonderful for our family, it does suck on the gas mileage, and upped our car payment by a hundred dollars a month, but so far it has been worth the sacrifice. Only having one car sucks but hopefully here soon David can get his Falcon fixed so he'll at least have a commuter car for work. For those who didn't know we had a 2006 Ford Focus and a 1998 Ford Windstar. Both were good cars for us but this new van has more features than those two cars combined. And it really has been much better for our little family. Plus, it has the number one thing I've always wanted in a van, dual sliding doors. And they open with a push of the button on the remote. Albeit it would be nicer to have one of the ones that have a sensor and open when your withing like 5 feet of it or whatever, but this one will do for now. And hopefully we're done trading up cars for a few years. We've been average getting a new car about every two years since we got married. Hopefully we can hang to this one long enough to pay it off. It would be nice to own a car scott clean that wasn't more than 10 years old.
So the girls have had birthdays this year. Amara just turned 4 a week and half ago and Ilyana turned 2 this past July. And she is such an imp, that's my sister's nick name for her, and my mom calls her Buddha belly. She's got a little pudge of a belly and loves to show it off.
Somehow I have failed to find any pics of Ilyana's birthday this year. And for the life of me cannot remember what we did. I'm feeling horrible that I cannot remember what we did for her birthday this year. Well hopefully later I will find some pics and can get them up, but for now this is the best I can do.
The girls are doing really well, developing good. Both just had doctor's appointments. Ilyana is 27.6 lbs and is 35 1/2 inches tall. Amara is 38.7 lbs I think and either 39 or 39 1/2 inches tall. So their both growing good. Amara has reached a point where she's too tall for one of her car seats so she now has to ride with a shoulder belt, which makes her feel like a big girl so it's fun for her, a little nerve wracking for mommy but we're dealing with it.
I have since dropped out of school, I was doing online through WSU this past spring and summer. I was studying humanities with a focus in English. David switched to online this past spring and switched his major to Business Administration. Right now he's working part time at the Shelton Wal-Mart in the Garden Center and is really enjoying it, which is good, his past jobs have been rather boring. Hopefully next Fall I can start school again, maybe at SPSCC.
We've decided we are ready for another baby. Although there are some things standing in our way. I have some health issues we need to address first and losing weight is a priority on both our lists right now. We were going to start trying and had decided to give up on weight loss at the time, but then my health issues came up and I figured since I'm waiting for that to be taken care of I might as well try and lose some weight while I'm at it. David has already lost some from working. He's on his feet all day so it's no wonder. He's got an opportunity this week to work 3 extra days days for 10 hour shifts so that will help some more and a bigger pay check. He was originally working through Monday and having Tuesday through Friday off. Now it looks like he may have tomorrow and Sunday off and working Monday through Thursday from 5-3. Which initially will suck but at least he'll still have Halloween off, I'm sorry no he won't but he'll be off at 3 so he can still come trick or treating with us, yay! We got costumes for the girls already. Amara is being Ariel from the Little Mermaid and Ilyana is being a devilina, devil with a tutu.
So Happy Halloween to everyone, hope you all have a good one, I'll post again soon!
